Larry Cross, Mayor, (Town of Sidney) responds to CAOT-BC letter sent by multiple members and reports:

"Thank you very much for your email and letter.

Sidney's resolution did not include motorized wheelchairs.  This was added by the Resolutions Committee of UBCM.  We do not include wheelchairs in our concerns because they are operated by individuals who have had appropriate instruction through therapists or some other part of the health care system.  We have had no complaints from anyone in the community about their operation.

With reference to a presentation at UBCM, I have to refer you to them.  

I agree that your association should have a chance to make submissions in any Provincial process dealing with this matter.  I will advance this need as best I can.

I have cc'd this response to the Town Chief Administrative Officer and our Executive Assistant.
