VANCOUVER’S
FIRST EVER CARFIT EVENT
WAS
A GREAT SUCCESS
On Saturday
October 4, 2014 twelve CAOT-BC members gathered at Holy Family Hospital in
Vancouver to participate in Vancouver’s first ever CarFit event.
The morning was spent training these
individuals on the principles of CarFit and how to conduct a CarFit 12-point
check-up to ensure mature drivers have a safe fit with their vehicle.
The afternoon
was spent putting this newly acquired knowledge into action as we conducted a
CarFit Check-up for 15 mature drivers, all members of BCAA, who have partnered
with CAOT to promote CarFit in Canada.
BCAA also sponsored our event, along with Providence Health, CAOT,
CAOT-BC and NMEDA. Thank you to all our
sponsors and participants.
CarFit is an
excellent way for OTs to promote our profession, while promoting the safety of
mature drivers in their vehicles.
