Evidence for your Practice: Behavioural and Educational Interventions to Prevent Pressure Ulcers

Cogan, A. M., Blanchard, J., Garber, S. L., Vigen, C. L., Carlson, M., & Clark, F. A. (2016). Systematic review of behavioral and educational interventions to prevent pressure ulcers in adults with spinal cord injury. Clinical Rehabilitation, 1-10.

This systematic review evaluated peer reviewed journal articles evaluating a behavioral or educational intervention for pressure ulcer prevention, in community-dwelling adults with spinal cord injury.

Conclusions: At present, there is no positive evidence to support the efficacy of behavioral or educational interventions in preventing pressure ulcer occurrence in adults with SCI.
