CAOT-BC member Tal Jarus is a volunteer with the accessibility committee for the 2012 Vancouver Folk Music Festival. The committee is looking for volunteers and sponsors to participate in this event. The objectives of the access committee are:
- To provide extra support to people with disabilities who need special care
- To make it possible for people who routinely encounter barriers when attending events to experience music, nature and community
- To provide access to the lyrics of the music to those that cannot hear.
- To provide access to program schedules to those that cannot see.
- To provide a tent and space for privacy for those that need to take medication, change diapers, or nap in the shade.
- To provide wheel chairs to those that are physically unable to walk on the large site.
