OT in the News: BC Edition

It's been a busy week for OT in the news!

First up, read Michael Coates' experience in Kelowna. This senior contacted his MLA (Christy Clark) when he experienced a long wait for community OT in his region. The story was picked up by:

The Kelowna Daily Courier (November 14, 2014) "West Kelowna Senior Goes to Top to Get Visit from Occupational Therapist"

Capital News (November 21, 2014) "Premier's Intervention Needed"

CAOT-BC responded to both and our letter to the editor "More occupational therapists needed" was published in the Daily Courier on November 25, 2014.

Next, CAOT-BC Advisory Committee member Margherita Jess' VITAL program was a front page story in the Saanich News on November 26, 2014, in "Greater Victoria Teens With Autism Get Boost In Job Hunt"

In addition Margherita was interviewed by the CBC Victoria on November 27, 2014. Listen to the interview here.

Margherita was also profiled in cOnnecT with a Colleague during OT month, read her profile here.
