OSMV Announcement: Website Updated

The website of the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles (OSMV) has recently been updated to include a new section on driver medical fitness specifically for medical professionals, located here: www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/osmv/medical-fitness/info/medical-professionals.htm

The website content includes updated versions of information which was previously found on DriverFitnessBC.com, a website which was created several years ago by the BCAA Road Safety Foundation. That site has now been retired and the domain name re-directed to the OSMV website page.

The new OSMV website section includes a direct link to the BC Driver Fitness Handbook for Medical Professionals Handbook, answers to questions commonly asked by medical professionals here, as well as an updated Cognitive Assessment Process flowchart here, which provides an overview of the OSMV driver cognitive assessment process.

Please share the new website resource with your colleagues www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/osmv/medical-fitness/info/medical-professionals.html

OSMV plans to expand this website section in the future, and welcomes your input on what content you would like to see added.  Please  email me your suggestions to Mr. Steven Roberts, Director of Stakeholder Relations (steven.roberts@gov.bc.ca).

If you have any driver specific driver medical fitness questions, you can contact OSMV driver medical fitness staff via a dedicated phone line for medical professionals: 250-953-8612
