OT24Vx 2014

OT24Vx 2014 - A World of Health and Wellbeing- Free Online Conference

The OT 24-hour Virtual Exchange (OT24Vx) started in 2010 and is held each year to celebrate World OT Day.  This “follow the sun” conference is run by OT4OT, a small group of occupational therapists from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and United Kingdom; who are passionate about using online technology to advance entry level education, continuing professional development, research, and practice.  This year the volunteer co-ordinators from OT4OT are Angela Hook and Sarah Bodell from the UK (University of Salford) and Karen Jacobs from USA (University of Boston) with help from our global colleagues.

This year the OT24Vx is extra special as it will be run in collaboration with the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. It will kick off at Noon PST on November 3rd 2014.  There is a different presentation every hour for 24 hours and session 24 will conclude at Noon PST on November 4, 2014.

Speakers from around the world include: Dr Mary Law from McMaster University presenting on the 5th edition update of COPM; Nobuhiro Nara from Japan on OT development in SE Asia and Ritchard Ledgerd, Executive Director of WFOT.  Other topics include: Waltz For Wellness, Using MOHO to improve fire safety and Play: An occupation overlooked in schools today?

This free online event is being hosted  by Eastern Washington University, in Spokane, Washington, USA.

The schedule of speakers and how to get yourself ready for the online event will soon be available on our website and nearer the time, live links to each of the session will be posted.
