Visit to University of Alberta Department of Occupational Therapy

(Left to Right: Brittany Harris, Giovanna Boniface, Susan Burwash)

Did you know that the University of Alberta Department of Occupational Therapy usually has 20-25% student representation from BC? Most of those students also plan to return to practice in BC upon graduation.

For that reason, on March 28, 2012, I travelled to Edmonton to speak to the first year class of the MOT program. Organized by Ms. Cori Schmitz (Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education) and Ms. Brittany Harris (student representative for BC), I was invited to speak to the class about CAOT-BC and the importance of being an active member of the professional association and profession. A big thank you as well to Ms. Susan Burwash (Assistant Professor) for hosting me for the day (and driving me to the airport!).

I look forward to returning to the University for future presentations and welcome all graduates to BC.
