Clinician Team Leader – Pain Management Program

Surrey

Reporting to the Senior Director, the working Team Leader role is responsible to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Pain Management Program/services for upwards to 20 plus clients by providing leadership to the rehabilitation team. Leadership includes guidance/coaching/training, on-boarding of new employees, ensuring quality assessment and treatment and monitoring of outcomes.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Clinical Team Quality Service Leadership

  • Co-ordinate the provision of care for each client to ensure the achievement of outcomes and quality of service delivery.

  • Ensure that formulation, team and program development meetings are scheduled and occur as planned.

  • Participate in formulation admission decision making meetings and case conferences. Provide direction to / seek consensus with assessment team on admission decision, and recommendations for how program will proceed (admit or not, deferred start, customized program, modified program).

  • Participate in clinical meetings to review client progress and provide input as needed.

  • Review report content re: consistencies across disciplines and in recommendations; ensure adherence to with established program standards. Provide coaching and training to clinicians as required.

  • Chair program development meetings and ensure minutes are completed and follow up on action items as needed.

·         Adhere to CARF standards.

·         Adhere to OrionHealth guidelines, policies and procedures and ensue clinical team members are aware and follow policies and procedures – Health and Safety, Clinical, HR and Finance/Admin/IT policies and procedures.

·         Provide clinical services within your professional scope: assessments, report writing, formulation input, progress and discharge reports, as required.

·         Collaborate in all of the above with other program Team Leader(s) and to assure consistent harmonious leadership and work culture within the PMP.

·         Keep Senior Director and Clinic Leadership Team regularly informed about team functioning and any emerging issues.

·         Liaise with Administrative Support staff regularly to ensure scheduling and program organization supports smooth delivery of services to clients.


Referrer Communication

  • Problem solve with referral source in a consultative manner to address issues, or delegate calls to appropriate clinician to best address issue

  • Nurture relationships with referrers, ensure that there is regular contact with Worksafe BC QA Manager/Supervisor.

  • Solicit feedback on referrer satisfaction with our services when appropriate - communicate referrer feedback to team.

  • Provide guidance and coaching with respect to communication and relationship building with referrers/case managers/QA Manager.

·         Liaise with external stakeholders regularly regarding client progress.


People Management

  • Recommend clinical staffing needs and liaise with the Senior Manager Operations/Clinic Director.

  • Participate in interview and selection process of new staff applicants.

  • Arrange for and schedule orientation of any new staff to the team, including development and implementation of orientation and mentorship plans. Ensure mentorship plans are adhered to

  • Deal with critical staffing issues as they arise.

  • Complete annual performance reviews, in discussion with the Sr. Director,   for clinical team members.

Other Related Responsibilities

·         Make recommendations on the purchase of equipment, tools etc. and facilities requirements.

·         Participate in all required staff, team meetings and conferences

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree and registered with the college  in one of the following: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary clinical team
  • In depth knowledge of pain management/continuous learner
