- ICBC- new reporting guidelines
- ICBC- rate increase
- Creation of a WorksafeBC Liaison committee
- Name change of committee
ICBC
This committee will be meeting with ICBC for an in-person meeting in Vancouver on September 25, 2012. At that time, additional feedback and suggestions for the new reporting guidelines will be provided by the group.
Regarding the increase in rates for occupational therapy service, although the ICBC Customer Relations department had indicated in a letter to CAOT-BC on July 11, 2012 that individual occupational therapists would be contacted by August 15, 2012, no-one on the committee had yet received any communication from ICBC.
As individual occupational therapists are almost 1 month overdue for a response from ICBC, this committee is recommending that individual therapists contact ICBC directly to find out when information about fees and performance-based standards can be expected.
It is also recommended that communication to ICBC should be sent before the meeting on September 25, 2012.
To review the previous history of communication between the occupational therapy professional association and ICBC, read this blog post.
Please direct your communication to ICBC to:
Janet MacKinnon, (janet.mackinnon@icbc.com), Customer Relations Advisor, ICBC
AND
Rob Wilson (rob.wilson@icbc.com), Acting Director, Claims Services, ICBC
WORKSAFEBC
This committee discussed the creation of a liaison committee between CAOT-BC and WorksafeBC in order to represent occupational therapy. A request for such a committee will be sent to WorksafeBC in the next several weeks.
COMMITTEE NAME CHANGE
To reflect the change in role of the Business Relations Advisory Committee (within CAOT-BC vs. BCSOT), the group reviewed a change in name. Starting on October 1, 2012, this group will be renamed the "CAOT-BC Private Practice Network".
If you are interested in joining the CAOT-BC Private Practice Network in the new membership year, please contact Ricardo Nuno (chair) at ricardo.nuno@jrrehab.ca
