ICBC Service Provider Update

MESSAGE FROM ICBC TO OT SERVICE PROVIDERS

At ICBC, we have a responsibility to ensure our customers’ personal information is disclosed, stored and accessed in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). We take this responsibility very seriously and maintain reasonable security measures at all times to protect the privacy of our customers.

To address the growing demand for email communication and to reduce any related privacy risks to our customers, we are making changes to how we externally email claims information. From now on, ICBC will be sending claims-related emails to you through our secure webmail delivery service.

The first time an ICBC claims representative corresponds with you by secure email, you will receive a system message requesting that you activate your personal webmail account by setting up a password. Once activated, you will be given immediate access to your secure email. The steps are easy and you only need to set up your account once to receive secure emails from any ICBC representative.

Please note that while you can reply to a secure webmail message, you are not required to use this service to send emails to ICBC employees or our customers. You can continue emailing us or our customers using your normal business practices. The secure webmail delivery service is only applicable to claims information share externally by an ICBC employee.

If you have questions about ICBC’s secure webmail service, please contact Linda Calbick, Injury Technical and Program Support (604-647-6140).
