OT part of zipper design history?
The answer is yes. Magzip is the invention of Scott Peters and his mother, Nancy Peters, who is an occupational therapist. Driven by the need to design a zipper that would be easier for a family member with myotonic dystrophy, Scott and Nancy spent years producing prototypes of zippers.
The final product "Quickzip" relies on a "hook-and-catch" design allowing for one-handed zipper use.
Under Armour discovered the "Quickzip" through a patent search and now has an exclusive deal with the Scott and Nancy's company.
The zipper has been rebranded the Magzip and will be launched in Under Armour clothing in the Fall of 2014.
