A Message from the Giving in Action Society: End to Family Fund

Dear Friends of GIA,

We regret to announce that Giving in Action Society will not be re-opening the Family Fund. The Society recently received confirmation from Government that there will be no new allocation of financial resources towards this program at this time.

What does this mean for grant recipients who have not yet completed their respective projects or purchases?
Funds have been earmarked for all approved projects; however, all invoices and reporting documentation must be submitted by November 28, 2014. Final grant payment cheques will be issued by the end of 2014.

What does this mean for families currently on our waitlist?
In the absence of GIA funding, we recognize that there are limited sources of funding for families that have been on our waitlist. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any new Letters of Inquiry from families. We encourage you to explore the list of funding options below. We hope that one or more of the following funding sources will be able to provide assistance to the families and individuals that you support in your line of work.

Funding for Accessible Vehicle Modifications
(and more)

Finally, we would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all of you who took time out of your busy lives to communicate the value of Giving in Action's Family Fund over the last several months. Your kind words and letter writing efforts were much appreciated!
