IDDSI Invitation to Comment on Draft International Framework

“Improving patient safety through a common language for
texture modified foods and thickened liquids”

Since 2012, The International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) has been working to develop global standardised terminology and definitions for texture modified foods and thickened liquids for individuals with dysphagia of all ages, in all care settings, and across all cultures. The use of different terms may result in confusion about how to provide appropriate dysphagia diets, posing significant risks to patient safety.
IDDSI has developed a draft framework of standardised terminology and definitions with input from a multi-disciplinary, international team using consensus methodology.
We would like to invite your input and feedback about the draft framework by completing a short 5-10 minute survey.

Please click this link  https://surveymanager.com.au/anon/1990.aspx  or copy the web link into your browser.

The survey will close on May 31, 2015.

Please feel free to share this email with multi-disciplinary colleagues, patients and caregivers.

Thank you very much,

Peter Lam and Julie Cichero, Co-Chairs
