The following are some useful resources published by RoadSafetyBC. They will be available on our website in the Driving Special Interest Group Resources.

RoadSafetyBC Medical Professionals Page – provides driver medical fitness information and resources for medical professionals

2010 BC Guide in Determining Fitness to Drive – A manual documenting the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles (OSMV) policy and procedures used when making decisions about a driver’s fitness. To be used as a companion to the BC Driver Fitness Handbook for Medical Professionals (below).


   BC Driver Fitness Handbook for Medical Professionals – Identifies and medical conditions that may impact a patient or client’s fitness to drive and outlines information that medical professionals should provide the OSMV.


   Report of a Condition Affecting Fitness and Ability to Drive – Form to be filled out for a patient or client with a medical condition that makes their driving dangerous to themselves and/or the public
