Meet your new co-chairs:
Hina Mahmood is a
recent graduate of the Master of Occupational Therapy program from the
University of British Columbia. She is currently working as an OT at the Down
Syndrome Research Foundation with children, teens and adults who have Down
Syndrome, and other developmental disabilities. As a student of the UBC MOT
program Hina had the opportunity to complete placements at Symbiosis Pediatric
Therapy and Sunny Hill Health Center. She values a holistic approach that is
client centered and focuses on enabling and empowering her clients to live
their every day lives in meaningful ways. She is looking forward to connecting
with fellow pediatric therapists and continue her development s a pediatric
therapist through her role as co-chair for the Pediatric Special Interest Group.
Zoe Raffard is a graduate from UBC's OT program, she has been working in
Pediatrics for 9 years. Zoe currently runs a small private practice in East
Vancouver with 2 other OT's and an SLP. They have a sensory motor gym and
cupboards full of toys/games to ensure that therapy is fun and functional.
Throughout her career, Zoe has taken additional training in sensory-processing
therapies, motor-based learning, feeding therapy and cognitive/mental health
approaches to treatment. In addition, she collaborates with several private
schools and home-school programs throughout the lower mainland. In her free time Zoe enjoys outdoor recreation where she teaches adaptive snowboarding and kayaking to
individuals of all abilities. Zoe's dog Dudley, is a trained therapy dog and loves
working with kids as much as she does, he even likes kayaking too.
