Maureen
Fowler is an
occupational therapist for the Medicine Hat Bariatric Specialty Clinic and the
Medicine Hat Alberta Health Living Program. She is a University of Alberta graduate
working and living in Medicine Hat for the past 13 years (originally from
Penticton B.C.).
She is the
full time OT for interdisciplinary Bariatric Specialty Clinic which has
approximately 330 active clients at this time. She provides individual, group
and psycho-educational intervention for clients and is also involved in the
development of the OT role within the Alberta Health Living Program (Chronic
Disease Management) for local and Southern Alberta. Maureen currently sits on
the steering committee and chairs a working group for the Medicine Hat
Bariatric Friendly Hospital Project.
Pam Hung is the occupational therapist with
the Provincial Bariatric Resource Team. She provides clinical consultation,
education and leadership to health professionals working with people with
obesity. She has been involved in developing clinical resources, including
videos for health professionals on safe client handling. Pam has worked in
acute care, and in the Edmonton Adult Bariatric Specialty Clinic. She has also
been an instructor at the University of Alberta for OT and health science
students.
This meeting will take place by webinar. Registration is required to participate.
