Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association tentative agreement details

The Health Sciences Association has released details of the tentative agreement reached between the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association (HSPBA) and Health Employers’ Association of British Columbia (HEABC).

CAOT-BC is pleased to see many issues addressed by this agreement, including:

  • Amendment to the Qualification Differential (QD): All salary structures of the OT and PT wage schedule are increased by $125 per month and the 2006 QD agreement is deleted. OTs and PTs will have the same compensation regardless of whether they hold the current or previous entry to practice credential.
  • Recruitment and Retention: Creation of a Provincial Recruitment and Retention Working Group that will include a representative from the Ministry of Health, and will work to identify strategies and initiatives to improve recruitment and retention, including the identification of recommendations for training at post-secondary institutions.

CAOT-BC will continue to collaborate with HSA to address issues that are important to occupational therapists in BC.
