Impaired Self-Awareness after Brain Injury

This workshop is intended for occupational therapists who want to
(1) enhance understanding of impaired self-awareness after brain impairment and
(2) use evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve clients’
impaired self-awareness. Learning will be undertaken through lecture, practical
sessions, and group discussions.

Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the theoretical components of self-awareness
- Describe the relevant assessments for impaired self-awareness; apply these to a case study example
- Identify interventions to improve impaired self-awareness
- Prepare a clinical intervention program to improve self-awareness based on a case study
- Explain the evidence regarding effectiveness interventions for impaired self-awareness after brain injury.
