ICBC UPDATES
Thank you to those of you who have been using
the Health Care Provider Invoicing and Reporting (HCPIR) application. For those
who have not yet used the HCPIR, we encourage you to do so as this is part of
our long-term solution to provide a more streamlined and efficient invoicing,
payment, and reporting process.
HCPIR
application enhancements
In order to enhance the application and
improve your user experience, we have introduced updates effective July 21.
Key changes:
- Customer/Patient Information section has been revised for improved usability
- Addition of mandatory legal disclaimer in the Invoicing section
- The checkbox must be selected before you are able to submit the application
- Email Address field under Service Provider/Payee Information section is no longer mandatory
- If filled out, you will automatically receive a confirmation email with basic details about your submission
- If not filled out, you will not receive a confirmation email
- In either case, you will have the option to obtain a detailed PDF copy of your submission by clicking “Request PDF Copy” at the confirmation screen
- Information pre-population
- When selecting the option to “Make Another Submission”, vendor details will be pre-populated for the next submission
- Addition of ability to add an expense within the HCPIR application when invoicing for a report or clinical record
Invoicing
reminder
Please
note that invoices are to be submitted after you have seen your patient and not
before. This will avoid the need to process a reversal if the patient does not
attend their appointment. Invoicing prior to appointment completion may result
in delayed payment and challenges with reconciliation.
Updated HCPIR
application checklist
ICBC
has revised the HCPIR
application checklist to refresh the key steps and include helpful tips
for you to make the most efficient use of the application. Take a look at this
checklist and consider saving it to your desktop for easy reference when
invoicing.
Invoice reconciliation
When
submitting an invoice via HCPIR, enter the invoice number from your
clinic management software into the “Invoice”
field for easier payment reconciliation. For more information on how to
facilitate your invoice reconciliation, refer to the HCPIR
application checklist.
Lock feature
Information
privacy and security remain a top priority for ICBC. We are pleased to inform
you that your report template now has the option to permanently lock editing on
completed reports. The lock button can be found on the top right hand corner of
the report template. Once a report is locked, it cannot be unlocked for further
editing.
