HMEDA Update: Health and Safety Risk Advisory Notice

HMEDA has released an advisory notice related to Arjo lift equipment installation, user training and inspection when providing equipment under the BC Medical Equipment Provincial Program (MEPP). 

Per the Arjo policy letter, Arjo lifting equipment is to be provided, installed and serviced only by Arjo-certified dealers. In the interest of protecting clients, family, and members of the healthcare team involved in managing lifting requirements across BC, HMEDA recommends equipment prescribers and providers adhere to manufacturer’s recommendations. Installation, user training and ongoing maintenance of lifting devices should be assigned to providers who employ certified technicians qualified to handle these tasks.
