The Patient Care Quality Review Boards are looking for 11 new board members

The Patient Care Quality Review Board are seeking board members from across the province and consideration will be given to qualified individuals with a broad range of backgrounds in healthcare, healthcare administration, community and social services, patient advocacy, public policy development, and corporate operations. The selection process will recognize lived experience, volunteer roles as well as paid employment.

To support strong boards that reflect the diversity of our province, women, visible minorities, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, persons of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity or expression (LGBTQ2S+), and others are encouraged to put their names forward.

The Boards are established as advisory boards under Section 8 of the Patient Care Quality Review Board Act. Their role is to receive and review care quality complaints that have been addressed by the regional or provincial health authority Patient Care Quality Offices and remain unresolved.

Board meetings are scheduled during regular office hours Monday – Friday and occur approximately 2 to 3 times per month. Meetings will be comprised of 3-4 members who form a panel. Therefore, not all board members will be required for every meeting. With the exception of the First Nations Health Authority which is not covered under the PCQRB Act, Board members cannot be currently employed by a health authority. These positions are best suited to those who are retired or working outside of health authority operated facilities and hospitals.
