Resource for your Practice: ABI patient education toolkit

After a concussion, there can be both short and long-term symptoms that impact someone's ability to participate in their daily activities. A key strategy to improving symptoms over time is a graded return to activity, where OTs have an important role in providing client education.

A recently developed app offers an interactive approach to tracking daily activity so that the symptoms stay within the "safe range." Developed by the St. Joseph's Pacing and Planning program, hundreds of users have already benefited.

The MyBrainPacer™ app assigns values to tasks like driving, grocery shopping, screen use and exercise to assist with planning one's day in a way that will incorporate pacing. To learn more and download the app, visit their website here.
