OT4OT, six occupational therapists from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, and United States who are passionate about using online technology to advance entry level education, ongoing professional development, research, and practice will again host a free 24 hour virtual exchange in celebration of World OT Day. The 24-hour Virtual Exchange (OT24Vx) will kick off at 5pm PDT on October 29, 2012 and will conclude at 5pm PDT on October 30.
The University of the Sunshine Coast,
Queensland, Australia will be hosting the virtual platform. Speakers from
around the world participating in the 24 hour Virtual Exchange include AOTA
President-elect Dr. Ginny Stoffel who will present on the Juggling Act: Balancing Leadership, Professional and Family Occupations;
DeLana Honeker who will discuss designing apps for practice;
and Jane Shamrock, who will present on Examining the experience of disability
in East Timor using Photovoice. Other topics include: Wellness Recovery Action Plans; Creating
Inclusive Play Environments; Using Yoga in Trauma-informed Care; Eco-therapy; Inclusive
Tourism; Workplace Wellness; Life Architect: Creating an exemplary life.
