Topic: RESNA: Free resources,
membership, and certification for Assistive Tech
RESNA, the
Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America,
is an inter-disciplinary, membership driven organization dedicated to advancing
rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology in North America. In this
session, we will introduce the variety of free resources available from RESNA,
as well as membership benefits for those who are interested in joining the
organization.
We will also cover the basics
of the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and Seating and Mobility
Specialist (SMS) credentials, and how interested individuals can go about
acquiring these certifications.
The session will be presented
by Emma Smith, ATP/SMS credential holder, former vice chair of the RESNA
Professional Standards Board, and current chair of the RESNA Special Interest
Groups and RESNA Student Design Competition.
This meeting will take place by webinar. Registration is required to participate.
