Representing occupational therapy at the Walk for Arthritis

Saturday June 2nd dawned cloudy and chilly, but that did not dampen the spirits of those attending the Arthritis Society's annual Walk for Arthritis. One of 8 events around BC, walkers of all ages gathered at Olympic Village in Vancouver for 1 or 5 km walks to raise awareness and funds for arthritis. CAOT-BC shared an "Ask the Expert" table with Physiotherapy Association of BC and Canadian Arthritis Trainee Association, and was represented by Lori Cyr, OT at the Mary Pack Arthritis Program. Lots of people came by the table, from people with arthritis , family members, a potential OT student and members of the public on their way to enjoy the seawall. Conversations ranged from the practical to the metaphysical to the inspirational! And of course, the CAOT-BC jar openers were a big hit.

A big thank you to Lori Cyr for representing CAOT-BC at this event!
