Message from VCH: Personal Protective Equipment/Supplies are Urgently Needed for Home Care Services

Home Support workers are not always top of mind when people think about our health care system – but they are the foundation of critical health services that allow people to live independently and/or with their families as long as possible.  Assisting people to be cared for at home is even more important now to help alleviate pressure on acute care services.

To do their daily work, helping to bathe, feed, turn and otherwise care for vulnerable and frail individuals, they need access to personal protective equipment including: eye protection, gowns, masks, hand sanitizer and gloves.

If you have any of these supplies available for donation, please contact Sara Camano at 604-730-0190 or sara.camano@vch.ca.  These supplies are expected to be shared between Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Heath Home Care staff.

Thank you for your support,

Sara Camano
